Durga Puja: Security Beefed Up In Odisha’s Cuttack City
Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police have made elaborate security arrangements to ensure law and order in the Millennium City during Durga Puja.
Talking to the media on Sunday, Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh said that 32 platoons of force will be deployed at all sensitive places of the city to ward off any untoward incident during the festival.
Apart from this, 100 officers in the rank of additional DCP, IIC, sub-inspectors will remain in charge of security while there will be 20 check posts to keep a watch on the movement of vehicles, he said.
To ensure strict adherence to COVID guidelines, special focus will be on all puja mandaps, he added.
The DCP said that seven persons, including the priest, will be allowed to perform the rituals of the Goddess at the puja mandaps in accordance with the guidelines.
Referring to the night curfew in the city, which will remain in force from 8 pm to 5 am from October 11 to 20, he said bike patrolling will be conducted during this period.
The DCP requested the city denizens to remain in their house during the night curfew.
