Taapsee Pannu rose to fame with a lot of hard work and today she is one of the most sought after actress in the country. She has given some remarkable performances in Thappad, Pink, Badla and some other movies. She has set a mark in Bollywood, Tollywood and Kollywood.
Taapsee is currently busy with various Bollywood projects.
Her movie ‘Rashmi Rocket‘, in which she plays the female lead is set to release on the OTT platform ZEE5, on October 15.
While speaking in an interview Taapsee was asked whether she was expecting a national award for the movie, but she chided by saying that she has not even won a regular entertainment award and the national award was a faraway dream.
Taapsee was expected to win the national award for her performance in Pink but she did not even reach the nomination stage. She recently won Filmfare awards for her performance in Thappad and IIFA award followed by others.
Rashmi Rocket is based on a young village girl trying to make it big in tracks and field events. The sprinter who dreams of reaching the line one day. It does not really focus on any real-life athlete in particular but emphasizes the struggles faced by female athletes.
Taapsee had worked hard for the movie. From training to scripting she had been working hard to put the story of a young athlete in front of the audience.
While some are praising her for her dedication some others are constantly on her tail trolling her online for her body. Some page called ‘bollywoodkinews’ body shamed Taapsee saying that “Ye Mard Ki Body Wali Sirf Taapsee Hi Ho Sakti Hai”.
Taapsee hit back at the user, saying that “remember this line until (October) 23rd and I will speak after that”. She also sarcastically thanked the user, telling him that she had worked hard for it.
While speaking in an interview Taapsee Pannu said, “I went back and did a lot of research on it and saw that this is happening only with women in every field. This inspired me even more that I needed to be the vehicle to present this problem.”
Recently, the Navratri song ‘Ghani cool Chhori’ was released ahead of the festival season. This song focuses on the traditional Garba dance. In the video, the actress can be seen in a traditional avatar looking gorgeous than ever before.
And another song called Zidd has also made its way out. The movie is mostly oozing women empowerment and takes us back to the Mary Kom period where Priyanka Chopra embodied the lead powerfully playing the Olympic winner.
Abhishek Banerjee plays the role of a lawyer. Earlier, Abhishek has impressed people with his brilliant performance in Paatal Lok, Stree, Helmet.
Priyanshu and Supriya Pathak are also seen playing key roles in the film. Directed by Akarsh Khurana, the film is written by Anirudh Guha and Kanika Dhillon. The film Rashmi Rocket will be released on October 15 on the digital platform ZEE5.
