Bhubaneswar To Get New Rly Station Ahead Of Rath Yatra
Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Puri district is all geared up for the grandest festival of the state, Rath Yatra slated for July 14.
The East Coast Railways (ECoR) has decided to run 184 special trains to cater to the rush during Rath Yatra, which includes special train for Gundicha Yatra, Sandhya Darshan on July 21, Bahuda Yatra and Sunavesha.

Besides, there are other important projects which are scheduled to be inaugurated before July 14.
- Bhubaneswar New Station- Situated between Mancheswar and Barang, around 14 km Bhubaneswar main station, this will be thrown open before Rath Yatra, ECoR Chief Public Relations Officer JP Mishra had said. He said a few passenger trains will be given stoppage to start with. Out of the seven platforms constructed, three will be functional as of now. The trains to start services at the Bhubaneswar New Railway station are: 58001/58002 Puri-Howrah Passenger, 58131/58132 Rourkela-Puri-Rourkela Passenger and 68534/68533 Cuttack-Brahmapur-Cuttack MEMU.
- MEMU Shed at Khurda Road- It will be made functional this week. Newly introduced MEMU Rake will be maintained at this shed.
- New Ticket Counter at Bagala- This new ticket counter at Bagala Dharmashala in Jajpur district will be made operational by the end of this week. It is being done for the benefit of the devotees of Jagannath Temple.
- New Foot Overbridge at Brahmapur- A new FOB has been constructed at Brahmapur Railway Station. It will be commissioned very soon.
Likewise, a new station building and a foot overbridge will be commissioned later this month at Bhadrak.
