100 Indian Monuments Illuminated With Tricolour As COVID Vaccination Crosses 100-Cr Mark

Bhubaneswar: As announced by the Centre earlier, 100 archaeological monuments in the country including Konark temple in Odisha were illuminated with Tricolour through laser light as COVID vaccination crossed 100 crore mark on Thursday.

The illumination was carried out as a mark of respect and gratitude to corona warriors who have contributed to the fight against the pandemic.

Besides Konark Temple, other monuments that were illuminated with Triolour included Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb and QutbMinar in Delhi, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri in Uttar Pradesh, Mamallapuram Rath temples in Tamil Nadu, St Francis of Assisi Church in Goa, Chittor and Kumbhalgarh forts in Rajasthan, the excavated ruins of the Nalanda University in Bihar and Dholavira in Gujarat.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in a release said India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 100 crore milestone by reaching 1,00,53,63,691 on Wednesday.

With 56,11,985 vaccine doses administered till 7 pm on the day, the daily vaccination tally is expected to increase with the compilation of the final reports by late night, it added.
