Odisha: Woman Officer In Anti-Naxal Operations Motivates Girls To Join Armed Forces
Koraput: An outreach programme was organised by 68 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) at SSD Government Girls High School, Nilabari under Bandhugaon block in Koraput district.
The first woman officer in Anti Naxal Operations (ANO) theatre from BSF Assistant Commandant Amandeep Kaur interacted with the girls during the outreach programme.
Assistant Commandant Kaur emphasised the importance of education and career opportunities in Armed Forces. Speaking about the role of women in operational duties in the ANO and on the International border, she called upon the girls to consider a career in security forces to serve the Nation. Assistant Commandant Kaur said the aspirants will be given pre-recruitment training.
About 75 girl students and 23 teachers of the school were also enlightened about the procedure of women recruitment in BSF, their pay, welfare schemes for woman employees and their nature of duty. The students were also shown visuals of ‘Seema Bhawani’ (Mahila Motor Cycle team of the BSF).
The programme was held under the guidance of DIG, Koraput, Madan Lal and Commandant, 68 Battalion of BSF, Yoginder Agarwal.
Border Security Force (BSF) has been working for the welfare of people in Koraput and Malkangiri districts for more than a decade.
