Bhubaneswar: In the latest verbal gaffe by US President Joe Biden, he referred to Ukrainian people as Iranians while criticising Russian aggression against Ukraine as “premeditated and unprovoked” in his maiden State of the Union Address on Wednesday.
“Putin may circle Kyiv with tanks, but he’ll gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people,” he said.
“He will never, he will never extinguish their love of freedom. And he will never, never weaken the resolve of the free world.”

He said that the United States is ready to tackle the challenge posed by him. “We are choking off Russia’s access to technology that will sap its economic strength and weaken its military for years to come. Tonight I say to the Russian oligarchs and corrupt leaders who have bilked billions of dollars off this violent regime no more,” he said.
The US has closed its air space to all Russian flights, which Biden said will further isolate the nation.
