Heatwave: Some Relief In Sight For Odisha, Night Temp To Fall After 48 Hours
Bhubaneswar: Amid heatwave alert, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre here on Monday forecast a drop in night temperature by 2 to 3 degree Celsius after 48 hours.
The day temperature is also expected to rise by 3 to 4 degree Celsius after two days.
The MeT office has issued a heatwave warning for Sonepur, Boudh and Balangir on March 16 and Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Angul, Nayagarh and Khurda on March 17.
Notably, 21 places in Odisha recorded maximum temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours with Titlagrah being the hottest at 38 degrees Celsius, followed by Balangir (37.8), Jharsuguda (37.3) and Angul (37.1).
Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 36.6 and 35.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Maximum temperatures observed appreciable rise at one or two places in North Interior Odisha and a few places South Coastal and Interior Odisha,” it said.

Dense fog occurred at one or two places in Jagatsinghpur and Khurda, while Cuttack experienced shallow fog this morning.
