Satyajit Mohanty To Assume Charge As Police Commissioner In August 1st Week

Bhubaneswar: Senior IPS officer Satyajit Mohanty would assume office as the new Police Commissioner of twin cities – Bhubaneswar and Cuttack – in the first week of August.

He was to take charge from YB Khurania on Monday.

Mohanty is holding the charge of Director General of Police (DGP) with the current incumbent Rajendra Prasad Sharma out of station.

The Odisha government on Saturday had issued a notification regarding his appointment as the new twin cities Police Commissioner.

Mohanty, a 1988-batch officer, was serving as ADG (Provisioning). He started his career as ASP (Jeypore) in 1990, served in the capacity of Additional SP of Puri and SP in Koraput, Rourkela, Cuttack and Balasore.

He also served as SP (Vigilance) and Additional Transport Commissioner, Odisha.

During his service career, Mohanty has received many rewards including Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2004 and President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2012.
