Two Terror Accused Identify Pak ‘Major’ In IAF Pilot’s Capture Photo: Delhi Police

New Delhi: Two men arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell on terror charges allegedly met a Pakistani Army “Major” during training in Pakistan. The terror suspects identified the Pakistani “Major” from a photograph of IAF pilot Grp Capt Abhinandan Varthaman when he was captured in Pakistan, according to a report in The Indian Express.

The photograph was shown to Zeeshan Qamar (28) and Osama alias Sami (22) after they told Delhi Police that the Pakistani “Major” told them that he was present when Grp Capt Abhinandan (who held the rank of Wg Cdr then) was captured in Pakistan.

Qamar is a resident of Allahabad while Sami is from Jamia Nagar in Delhi. Both were allegedly trained by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), according to the Delhi Police chargesheet.

“They identified one Hamza, he is from PoK and lives in Islamabad. He was the head of training. Hamza told them he was present during the capture of Grp Capt Abhinandan. He is a Major in the Pakistani Army,” the chargesheet states.
