India’s First K-Pop Star Shreya Lenka Back Home; Meets Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan At Bhubaneswar Airport
Bhubaneswar: First-ever Indian K-pop artiste Shreya (Sriya) Lenka returned home to Bhubaneswar on Friday. She was welcomed at the airport by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan himself.
The 18-year-old from Odisha’s Jharsuguda became one of the two new members of ‘Blackswan’, an immensely popular South Korean K-pop girl group formed by DR Music.
Pradhan met Shreya at Biju Patnaik International Airport and congratulated her for the achievement.
Pradhan tweeted posted a picture with Lenka. In his message the Union Education Minister wrote:
India’s youth are breaking the mould and are flourishing in what we often call unconventional career choices.
Sriya Lenka of Jharsuguda, India’s first K-pop star and the newest member of the popular #Blackswan band is one such talented youth who has pursued her passion.
Glad to have met her at the Bhubaneswar airport today. Sriya represents the spirit of the youth of NewIndia who are not afraid to venture into uncharted territories. Wished Sriya all the best. May she charm the world and further roll the K-pop juggernaut.

Sriya, who is here on a short break, before returning to Seoul has thanked the people for the support and said she has come a long way only because of people’s support, she said while speaking to mediapersons after landing in the city.
Eager to meet her parents and family members after six months, she said she will working on a new album after her return and requested everyone to follow the Blackswan and give their views.
