Delhi Police Files Rape Case Against Sonia Gandhi’s Personal Assistant
New Delhi: Delhi Police have charged Congress chief Sonia Gandhi’s personal assistant, PP Madhavan with rape following a complaint by a woman. Madhavan has also been charged with “criminal intimidation” by the police.
In her complaint to the Delhi Police, the woman accused PP Madhavan, 71, of raping and sexually exploiting her on the pretext of marriage. According to her statement, PP Madhavan professed his love for the woman and allegedly expressed his desire to marry her. “He made sexual advances without my consent,” the woman said in the complaint, according to India Today.
The woman’s husband, who worked at the Congress office, putting up hoardings and doing other work, died in 2020.
“After my husband’s death in February 2020, I began looking for a job and got in touch with Madhavan. He first called me for interview. He used to make video calls and chat with me on WhatsApp,” she claimed.
“He took me to an isolated location near the Uttam Nagar metro station and forced himself on me inside his car. In February 2022, he took me to a flat in Sundar Nagar and forced himself on me without my consent,” she further alleged.
PP Madhavan was in a meeting and his personal assistant said that the allegations of rape and sexual assault were a conspiracy and baseless when India Today tried to reach him.
