It has now been confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 72nd Independence Day speech will be live streamed on both Google and YouTube.

In a first-of-its-kind digital drive, public broadcaster Prasar Bharati has partnered with Google and its video sharing platform YouTube to telecast the Independence Day programme live online including Narendra Modi’s speech from Red Fort.

The main aim of this tie-up is to increase the reach of Narendra Modi’s Independence Day speech as the Indian Prime Minister.

“Live stream of the Independence Day event from Red Fort is a high viewership event. We partnered with Google to give it greater visibility, both in India and abroad. Apart from YouTube, it will be available on Google homepage,” The Hindu quoted Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati.
