43 Places In Odisha Record Heavy To Very Heavy Rainfall
Nayagarh's Barmul Records Highest 229.4 MM: Met Centre
Bhubaneswar: As heavy downpour triggered by a low pressure over the Bay of Bengal pounded several parts of Odisha in last two days, around four dozen places recorded heavy to very heavy rainfall during the period, the Meteoroligical Centre here said on Monday.
Barmul in Nayagarh district received extremely heavy rainfall recording 229.4 mm, highest volume recorded in the state during the period, the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a Twitter post.
Similarly, seven stations in the state recorded very heavy rainfall and 36 places received heavy rainfall , it said.
Barmul was closely followed by Padmapur in Rayagada district which recorded 180.3 mm of rainfall, while Tikabali in Kandhamal district received 139 mm, it said adding Guda in Rayagada recorded 136.4 mm rainfall and Jaipatna in Kalahandi recorded 122 mm.
