[Watch] Odisha Flood: Hirakud Water Level At 625.10 Ft, Mahanadi Still Above Danger Mark; Check Status Of Other Rivers
Bhubaneswar: The water level in Hirakud dam was 625.10 ft at 6 am on Thursday. The water level in the reservoir was 626.12 ft at 8 pm on Wednesday and 626.17 ft at 6 pm on Wednesday.
At 6 am on Thursday, the inflow at the reservoir was 4,66,574 lakh cusecs of water from the Mahanadi river’s upstream while the outflow was 6,76,227 cusecs of water to the river’s downstream.
The Mahanadi at Naraj near Cuttack was flowing at 26.95 metres at 6 am on Thursday against the danger level of 26.41 metres.
Release of excess floodwaters of the river has already inundated large areas in its downstream and further flooding will only worsen the situation in the affected areas.
