Bhubaneswar: With no heavy rainfall warning for the next two-three days, Odisha is likely to experience hot and humid weather conditions, the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday.

The day temperature is likely to see an upward trend while humidity level is likely to rise in coastal areas on these days.

Notably, the MeT office has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning at several places in Odisha during the next few days. The warning was sounded for Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapada districts on September 15 and Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Ganjam, and Balasore on September 16.

While there will be no major weather activity on September 17, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places in Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada on September 18 as an upper air cyclonic circulation is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal off north Odisha-West Bengal coasts around this time and increase the intensity of rain in the state.
