CRPF Organises Bike Rally To Mark Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birth Anniversary In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Sunday organised a bike rally in Odisha capital on the eve of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Monday.

Around 120 CRPF Jawans took part in the bike rally with the National Flag. CRPF IG Sangram Keshari Mohanty flagged off the rally which began from Bhubaneswar camp. The rally will go through Khurda, Cuttack, and Puri districts covering 75 km.

“One should understand how India attained Independence and the challenges faced by our country after being freed from the British Rule. It was Sardar Patel who visualised the significance of a special force in independent India and conceptualised the CRPF. We are conducting the bike rally in memory of Sardar Patel who is considered the founder of CRPF,” CRPF IG told media.

The Central government has planned an elaborate programme involving paramilitary forces in all districts of the country to mark the birth anniversary of ‘Iron Man of India’ on October 31 which is celebrated as National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas since 2014.

The ‘Run for Unity’ campaign will be held from 7 am to 8 am on the day. Around 75,000 unity runs will be organised across India with 100 runs in each district.
