Marital Discord: Counselling Of Singer Humane Sagar & Wife Deferred

Cuttack: The counselling session to resolve the marital conflict between playback singer Humane Sagar and his wife Shriya Mishra has been deferred to January 30.

After the January 19 counselling at the Mahila Police station here, the duo had sought two days’ time and were supposed to again appear before police on Monday. The date, however, was postponed to January 30 after Shriya sought time on personal grounds.

“Shriya would be busy with some personal work till January 29 and has sought time till then. She has confirmed to remain present at Mahila Police the following day. Accordingly, we have informed Humane Sagar, who also agreed to attend the counselling at 10 am on January 30,” informed ACP Amitabh Mohapatra.

“Efforts will be made to help the couple reach a compromise. If the counselling fails, a case will be registered on the basis of the complaint lodged by Shriya and action will be taken accordingly,” he added.

Both Humane and Shriya have earlier told the media that they would want to resolve the conflict amicably and get back together. However, the singer had expressed displeasure over the press meet held by Shriya on Sunday and refuted the allegations of an extra-marital affair, dowry torture and religious conversion levelled against him.

Shriya, who has left her husband’s house in Cuttack and living at her parental house in Balasore for over five months, lodged a complaint at Mahila police station on January 17 accusing Humane of physically and mentally torturing her for the last few months.

They got married in 2015 and have a daughter.
