25 From Sikkim Join Youth Exposure Programme At NIT Rourkela In Odisha
Rourkela: A five-day exposure tour with 25 energetic youths from Sikkim has commenced at NIT Rourkela in Odisha under “Ek Bharat, Sresth Bharat”- Youth Sangam Programme.
This initiative is an effort of the Union Ministry of Education to promote the idea of unity in diversity by bringing together different states of India.
NIT Rourkela has been chosen as the Nodal Institute for Odisha and paired with NIT Sikkim to host the Yuva Sangam youth exchange programme.
The team of 25 youths from Sikkim arrived on Saturday at Rourkela Railway Station and were welcomed by the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. The tour aims to provide an immersive experience of various facets of life, development landmarks, recent achievements and youth connect in the host state, a press release said.
The tour has been planned under five broad areas – Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Prodyogik (Technology), and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect) – to give the participants a multi-dimensional exposure.
Under Paryatan, the team will explore the famous tourist destinations in the host state, get to know the local cuisine and experience the culture and tradition of the place.
Under Parampara, the participants will get an opportunity to interact with the locals and learn about the customs, traditions and values that are unique to the host state.
Pragati will give the participants an insight into the development landmarks and recent achievements of the host state, which will help them understand the progress and growth of the state.
Prodyogik will provide the participants with an opportunity to visit industries and learn about the latest technologies and innovations in the host state.
Under Paraspar Sampark, the team will interact with the local people and understand the similarities and differences in the cultures and traditions of the host state and their home state
Yuva Sangam is an initiative to strengthen people-to-people connections, especially between youth belonging to north eastern India and other states. It will provide an immersive experience of various facets of life, development landmarks, recent achievements and youth connections in the host state.
