Ranchi: Odisha’s newly-appointed Governor Braj Mohan Ram on Tuesday vowed to work for the poor, address fundamental issues and strive to meet people’s essential needs.
The three-time BJP MP from Jharkhand said his focus will be to make coastal state prosper.
“The party has recognised a worker like me. I am grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for their blessings,” Ram told PTI outside Hanuman Temple in Ranchi’s Morabadi, where he offered prayers along with his family.
“I will work for the poor and ensure justice for those who are otherwise denied it. I will make efforts to address fundamental issues and strive to meet people’s essential needs, ensuring they face no difficulties. I will be working for the prosperity of the state,” Ram said.
“I have worked hard consistently and remained an active and honest member of the organisation. Nowadays, people often switch to another party if they are denied a ticket. I stayed with the party and worked to ensure the victory of BJP candidates,” added Ram.

It has acknowledged our hard work and the consistent efforts we have made within the organisation. Even after being denied a ticket, we continued to work honestly and actively for the party. These days, people often leave for another party or a third party the very evening they are denied a ticket. But I was denied a ticket three times, and even then, I remained with the party and worked to ensure that the BJP candidate won. The candidate went on to win elections repeatedly…I had great hopes that the party would certainly consider me for something. By the grace of Mata Rani and with the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, I have now been given this appropriate constitutional position.” (Full video available on PTI Videos – https://t.co/bIyFWTfmBd)
