Ailing Leopard Rescued From Nuapada Forest In Odisha; Sunstroke Suspected

Nuapada: Forest department officials captured an ailing leopard near Siliaribahara village under Dharamabandha section of Nuapada Sadar forest range on Sunday.

According to sources, villagers spotted the leopard withering around in pain this morning and informed the Forest department. They also clicked his pictures and recorded videos on find that it looked ill and was unable to walk. They suspected that it might have fallen ill after killing and devouring a cow near this village.

Khadial Forest Officer Sunil Kumar Tripathi said that the tiger was being treated at the spot by a team led by district veterinary officer Sachi Panda. It is suspected to have suffered a sunstroke.

The state has been reeling under intense heatwave conditions for last few days with the mercury soaring to 44 degree Celsius.
