WFI Chief Taunts Protesting Wrestlers: ‘You Don’t Get Justice from Jantar Mantar’

New Delhi: Under-fire Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Sunday took a swipe at the wrestlers who are protesting against him at Jantar Mantar and demanding his resignation.

“You don’t get justice from Jantar Mantar. If you want justice, you have to go to the police, court. They never did that until now. We will accept whatever the court decides,” said Brij Bhushan, addressing mediapersons at his residence in Bishnoharpur, about 40 km from Gonda city in UP.

Brij Bhushan, who is a BJP MP, alleged that those who have levelled allegations against him belong to an ‘akhada’ whose patron is Congress MP Deepender Hooda.

“90% of the athletes and guardians of Haryana trust the Wrestling Federation of India. A few families and the girls who have levelled allegations belong to the same ‘akhada’. The patron of that ‘akhada’ is Deepender Hooda. They are out to malign me with fake allegations,” claimed Brij Bhushan.

“I am completely innocent and have full faith in the Supreme Court and Delhi Police. I am ready to face any kind of investigation,” the WFI chief said.

“Resigning as president of Wrestling Federation of India is not a big deal for me, but I will not resign as a criminal,” he asserted.
