UK Parliament Honours Karan Johar For 25 Years In Global Film Industry

New Delhi: Director and filmmaker Karan Johar was on Tuesday honoured by the British Parliament in the presence of Lords and MPs for his contribution to the global entertainment industry. KJo completed 25 years in the film industry and on the occasion unveiled the teaser of his upcoming film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani.

The event took place at the Palace of Westminster, which serves as the meeting place for both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the two houses of the UK parliament. Karan Johar’s latest project, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, will be released in UK cinemas and globally on July 28.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Viral Bhayani captioned the post, “A big day for Karan Johar as he gets honoured by the British Parliament for his contributions made to the global entertainment industry. With 25 years in filmmaking, many of his blockbuster movies, like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham etc., were shot in the United Kingdom (sic).”

Karan Johar has shot multiple films, like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in London. His films Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and My Name is Khan were among the highest-grossing Indian films at the UK box office.
