Naveen Sanctions Rs 128 Crore For Transformation Of Schools & Colleges In Balasore

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patanik has sanctioned Rs 128 crore for transformation of 128 upper primary schools and colleges in Balasore district under 5T initiative.

This was stated by secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian during two-day visit to the district on Thursday.

Reviewing the progress of new building for primary school at Bahanaga in the district, he said it is the first primary school that is developed under 5T inititiave.

Earlier in the day, the chief minister sanctioned Rs 2.49 crore for construction of a new building for Bahanaga High School, which was used as a make-shift mortuary after the recent triple-train crash. The money was sanctioned from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

Expressing the gratitude of the government to the people of Bahanaga for their exemplary services during the horrific train accident, Pandian said the place will be developed as a model panchayat in the country.

He also visited Panchalingeswar temple in Oupada block and Khirachora Gopinath temple in Remuna. He interacted with the servitors and management of the temples regarding their development and told the district collector to submit a detailed project report in this regard.

Reviewing the progress of canal works on Salandi river in Oupada, Pandian directed the engineers and officials to complete it by December.

The secretary also visited UN College and FM Medical College in Soro to take stock of the development works. He also met the local people and members of Mission Shakti and other orgnisations to know their problems.
