Mortal Remains Of Martyred Assam Rifles Jawan Reaches Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Mortal remains of Assam Rifles jawan Nilanchal Patel, who was martyred during patrolling in Manipur, arrived at his native village in Odisha’s Bargarh on Monday.

People from all walks of life paid their last respect to the jawan. His last rites will be performed at Baghapali village under Bheden police limits with full State honours. 

Notably, Patel sustained grievous injuries after the vehicle in which he was travelling met with an accident while on duty on August 11 night. He succumbed to the injuries the same day. He is survived by his mother, wife and two daughters.

Patel had been serving the 7th battalion of Assam Rifles.
