Coal India Chairman Visits MCL Mines In Odisha’s 2 Districts
Sambalpur: PM Prasad, Chairman, Coal India, visited Basundhara and Mahalaxmi areas of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) in Odisha’s Jharsuguda and Sundargarh districts.
During his visit, Prasad inspected the Kulda and Garjanbahal opencast mines gaining valuable insights into the ongoing operations. He rewarded the outstanding employees for their exceptional performances and unwavering dedication to safety.
Prasad also visited the Siarmal opencast coal mine and the Sardega railway siding within Mahalaxmi area, where he monitored the progress of the upcoming Rapid Loading system, a pivotal project poised to overhaul coal logistics in the region.
Meanwhile, Amrit Lal Meena, secretary, Ministry of Coal, chaired a review meeting at MCL headquarters in Sambalpur in presence of Prasad. Meena lauded the progress and achievements of the company.
The meeting was attended by the senior management of MCL including OP Singh, CMD, Keshav Rao, Director (Personnel), PK Patel, CVO, JK Borah, Director (Tech/Op), AK Behura, Director (Finance) and AS Bapat, Director (Tech/P&P).
The secretary reviewed the area-wise production and despatch performance and commended the efforts of the MCL for the consistent growth in production and despatch. He underscored the importance of new rail corridors to further enhance coal transportation. He also took keen interest in reviewing the critical land issues.
