New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an advisory for students of Class X and 12 who will be appearing for board examinations beginning on Thursday, in the wake of ongoing farmers’ protest in Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR).
The Board directed students to leave homes early and reach their respective centres by 10 am so that they don’t get stuck in anticipated traffic disruptions.
The CBSE also advised exam candidates to use Metro services.
“Due to the prevailing situation in Delhi, it is anticipated that there will be traffic disruptions, causing delays in reaching the examination centres. Therefore, all students are advised to leave their homes early to ensure they arrive on time, following the instructions issued by CBSE,” the advisory stated.
“As the examination begins at 10.30 am, all students are instructed to arrive at their examination centres by 10 am. Students are advised to use metro services to reach the examination centres, which are operating smoothly,” the Board added.
Not just Delhi-NCR, CBSE urged all students who will be writing the exams across India and other countries to reach the examination centres by 10 am, taking into account local conditions, traffic, weather conditions, distance, etc.
Only those students who arrive by 10 am will be permitted entry to the examination centres.
No student will be allowed to enter after the specified time.
This year, a total of 39 lakh students from 26 countries will take the examinations.
Board exams for Classes X and XII commence on February 15, and will continue till March 13 and April 2, respectively.
