Odisha Alliance Suspense: State BJP Holds Crucial Meeting To Fine-Tune Election Strategy
Bhubaneswar: Amid ongoing suspense over proposed alliance between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Biju Janata Dal (BJD), a crucial meeting of the Odisha unit of the saffron party is being held on Saturday to fine-tune its strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls.
The important meeting of the state BJP’s election committee is being held in Bhubaneswar. Party’s election in-charge for Odisha Vijayapal Singh Tomar also arrived in the state capital in the morning to attend the crucial meeting.
Speaking on the proposed alliance with BJD, Tomar reportedly said that BJP is ready with a comprehensive strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha. The party, he said, is all set to fight the upcoming polls with full might.
Stating that BJP has already chalked out its strategy, he said the party will share details about its poll plan after the election committee meeting, where all major issues relating to the upcoming elections would be discussed threadbare as part of preparations for the poll battle.
Top BJP leaders, including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, are attending the meeting at the state party headquarters in the capital city.
It may be noted here that the Election Commission of India (ECI) is likely to announce the schedule for the upcoming elections later in the day.
However, uncertainty continues to surround proposed BJD-BJP alliance in the state. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday neither confirmed nor denied the possibility of a tie-up between the two parties. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president J P Nadda are yet to decide on what their road ahead in Odisha.
