3 Persons From Bengal Detained After Young Woman’s Body Found From Daya River Bank In Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswaer: Police detained three persons from West Bengal on Monday for allegedly murdering a young woman and disposing her body in Daya river on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, the woman, identified as 19-year-old Bhagya Dakua from Hinjlicut in Ganjam district, was residing in Sisupalgarh in the city. Her father Hina Dakua alleged that a youth from Bengal had lured her away from their house three months back.
On Sunday night, some locals found three youths disposing of Bhagya’s body on the banks of Daya and informed the police.
A team from Dhauli police station went to the spot and seized the body. They also detained three youths and seized two bikes from the river bank. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
“We have detained three persons belonging to Murshidabad in West Bengal. They were found moving under suspicious circumstances in the area where the body was recovered. All of them are working as masons,” said Pradipta Kishore Nayak, IIC of Dhauli police station.
