Balangir: A ‘fake doctor’, who was running a clinic illegally for the last 15 years in Saintala area of Odisha’s Balangir district, has been arrested following a raid.
According to sources, the man without any medical qualification was running a clinic at Tikrapada under the jurisdiction of Saintala police station for the last over 15 years in an illegal manner.
The accused, identified as Bidyut Kumar Biswas of West Bengal, was taken into custody after a team of police and drug inspector conducted a raid at his clinic.
Biswas, who has studied up to Plus II and does not have any medical qualification, was operating illegally. The raid was conducted following complaints by several locals.
Several medicines, injections and other articles were seized from the clinic during the raid. Further details are awaited.
