PM Modi To Launch Ayushman Bharat-II Tomorrow; Know When Odisha Will Benefit
Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to launch the much-awaited phase II of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), a health insurance/assurance scheme of the Centre on Tuesday.
Citizens above the age of 70 years will receive free treatment facility up to Rs five lakh at any hospital listed in the panel under the scheme to be launched by the PM virtually, Odisha Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling said on Monday.
Referring to Odisha, he said since Ayushman Bharat scheme is yet to be implemented in the state, the government needs to prepare a modality and take steps to implement it.
The Minister said that the health scheme is expected to be implemented in Odisha by the end of this financial year, after March or April 2025.
Phase II of the scheme is being launched across the country on Tuesday and it will benefit people above the age of 70 years.
Stating that the state Health Department is taking all necessary steps, the Minister said plans are afoot to include 3.50 crore people under the scheme.
Both Phase I and II of the ambitious scheme will be launched in Odisha very soon, hopefully by the end of the current financial year, Mahaling added.
