Odisha Govt To Disburse 3rd Phase Subhadra Yojana Money By Nov End: Dy CM

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will disburse money in third phase of first instalment under Subhadra Yojana by the end of November.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida told reporters on Saturday that the third phase money of first instalment would be credited directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries by November end.

Parida further said that money will be disbursed in a fourth phase also as the government wants to credit the amount to the bank accounts of around 1.20 crore women beneficiaries by the end of December, this year.

Regarding the inclusion of Anganwadi workers under the scheme, she said all those left out so far would receive financial assistance in the third phase.

Stating that a high-level committee meeting was held on Friday, the Deputy CM said the applications of around 2.67 lakh women beneficiaries have been rejected for various reasons. It was decided at the meeting that a three-member committee comprising BDO, tehsildar, and DSWs will re-check the details of all the rejected applicants and all eligible applicants will get their money after the re-checking, she said.

Noting that the government has also received complaints of government job holders availing the benefit under the scheme, the Deputy CM said steps are being taken to verify the allegations and necessary action will be taken.

It may be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the BJP government’s flagship scheme on his birthday during his visit to the state on September 17. Under Subhadra Yojana, eligible beneficiaries in the age group of 21 to 60 years will get Rs 50000 assistance in 10 instalments of Rs 5000 each in five years.
