Berhampur: Berhampur city Mayor Sanghamitra Dalei has alleged that she received threat calls from an unknown phone number. She alleged that the caller abused her using filthy language and threatened to ‘kill’ her.
Based on her complaint lodged by her, Berhampur police registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.
As per sources, the caller abused her and gave death threats when she received the call.
Preliminary investigation by the police showed that the unknown number belonged to former executive engineer of Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) Lalit Mohan Das.
Das was not immediately available to comment on the developmenbt.
It may be noted that BJD’s Sanghamitra Dalei had won the Mayor’s post of BeMC seat with a huge margin by defeating her BJP rival Sabita Suar in 2022.
