New Delhi: Americans turned to adult content to ease election-related anxiety. Pornhub recorded a 7 per cent spike in traffic while residents from both blue and red states headed to the polls on Election Day. The adult content site noted its highest viewership increase between 8 and 9 am.
According to the New York Post, California users searched for “thick and curvy”, Colorado opted for “no nut November”, while Florida focused on “MAGA” as Trump-voting residents appeared to combine right-wing sentiments with adult content consumption. MAGA was popularised by Donald Trump during the US election and it stands for “Make America Great Again”.
The data was compiled from November 3 to November 6 and ranked top terms per state based on comparative numbers.
Since swing states do not traditionally favour the “blue” Democrats or “red” Republicans, showed diverse searches. In this year’s election, swing states or the “purple” states were – Pennsylvania, Nevada, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin.
Pennsylvania chose to look at “tushy”, Nevada preferred “morning sex”, Georgia went with “panties”, Arizona explored “ass licking”, Michigan was looking at “suck my balls, and Wisconsin focussed on “swap”.
Washington searched for “transgender”, Oregon for “deeper”, and Wyoming sought “car sex”. New Mexico looked for “butt plug”, North Dakota for “Native American”, and South Dakota for “amateur cuckold”. Minnesota searched for “sloppy seconds”, Iowa for “rimjob”, and Missouri for “blowbang”. Louisiana preferred “goth”, Illinois searched for “chubby”, and Ohio for “nympho”.
Other states, such as Tennessee with “waxing genitals”, New York with “Puerto Rican”, and Rhode Island with “femdom”, also showed distinct tastes. Massachusetts looked for “huge boobs”, Vermont for “best friend”, and New Hampshire for “age gap”. Maine sought “ass to mouth”, Connecticut searched for “lactating”, and DC looked for “coworker”. New Jersey chose “girl on girl”, Delaware went with “missionary”, Maryland searched for “cute”, Alaska for “cougar”, and Hawaii for “hot Asian MILF”.
Fourteen states were excluded from the compilation as Pornhub is banned in these states. These are Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and Virginia, the report added.
However, the adult content website noted a 16 per cent dip from 6 pm to midnight on the evening of the election, as many residents closed the porn website to focus on watching the election results unfold in real time.
