Bengaluru: The father of deceased techie Atul Subhash thanked Bengaluru Police for arresting his son’s wife Nikita Singhania and her family members.
Atul committed suicide six days ago, leaving behind a 24-page suicide note and video message in which he blamed his wife and her family for harassing him.
Nikita was on Sunday arrested in Gurugram, while her mother Nisha Singhania and brother Anuragh Singhania were apprehended from Prayagraj in an abetment to suicide case.
Atul’s father Pawan Kumar asked police to ensure that their grandson was handed over to them. He has also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav and other leaders to ensure that he gets his grandson.
“I am thankful to the police for arresting their (Nikita Singhania’s) family. We do not even know if our grandson is alive or his whereabouts. We request the police to give us the details of our grandson and hand him over to us. We want our grandson to live with us,” said Kumar.

Though Atul is from Bihar, he worked in Bengaluru and died there only. Hence the case is being investigated by Bengaluru Police.
Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said that the police department will investigate the accused in this case.
“This case has opened up a new discussion in the country about men’s rights and how the system is working. The police department is investigating what led the man to die by suicide and the authenticity of cases that were filed against him by his wife’s family,” the minister said.
Atul was found hanging in his apartment at Bengaluru’s Munnekollal area on December 9. A suicide note found in his apartment stated that his wife harassed him continuously and kept demanding a hefty amount in the name of alimony.
Atul emailed his suicide note and also shared a video with several individuals as well as a WhatsApp group of an NGO, asking for justice.
