Bhubaneswar: The dispute between two groups of servitors, which had stalled the rituals in the Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar for three days, was resolved on Wednesday.
Khurda Collector Chanchal Rana revealed this to the media in the evening after a meeting of the Temple’s Trust Board. The dispute between the servitors was solved at the meeting and the ADM has been asked to file a detailed report on the issue in 24 hours, he added.
On the basis of the ADM’s report, necessary action would be taken against those who would be found responsible for disrupting the services of Lord Lingaraj. Due to the dispute, the Lord was not even offered prasad for the last three days.
Representatives of the Pujapanda Nijog and Badu Nijog besides the officials of temple administration attended the meeting. With the dispute resolved, the rituals of the deities inside the temple are expected to resume.
Earlier in the day, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan held a high-level meeting on the matter with Law Secretary, Endowment Commissioner, and Khurdha Collector. Taking a serious view of the issue, he had warned of stern action against those responsible for letting Lord Lingaraj remain hungry.
