Mumbai: Mother of Mahira Sharma of Bigg Boss 13 fame has dismissed rumours about her daughter dating Indian faster bowler Mohammed Siraj.
“What are you saying? People say anything. Now that my daughter is a celebrity, people will link her name with anyone, so should we believe them?” she told a news portal, expressing shock over the speculation reportedly fuelled by social media interactions between the duo.
She further called the reports “completely false.”
Siraj liked one of Mahira’s Instagram posts, and the two started following each other on the platform, which stoked conjecture. The ETimes on Wednesday also confirmed that Mahira and Siraj were romantically involved and “are trying to get to know each other’.
While a ‘thrilled’ fun reacted by called them a “ power couple”, “Mahira- Siraj together?” another commented, “From reality to cricket- this is an interesting match.” Many likened the pairing to Virat-Anushka and KL Rahul-Athiya. “Cricketers and actress- Bollywood and cricket romance strikes again!” a tweet read.
Only recently, the 29-year-old fast-bowling prodigy was linked to Asha Bhosle’s granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, after a picture of the duo sharing a laugh together on her 23rd birthday went viral on social media. Before it could spiral into rumours of a romantic relationship, Zanai took to Instagram and referred to Siraj as “Mere pyaare bhai” (my dear brother). Siraj also responded to her post, affectionately calling her “behna” (sister).

On the other hand, Mahira and Paras Chhabra were one of the couples whose romance blossomed in Bigg Boss 13 house. The two formally began dating after the show concluded, and their relationship ultimately turned the town crimson. But destiny had other ideas, and the couple parted ways in 2023.
With neither Siraj nor Mahira confirming or denying the news yet, excitement surrounding this purported connection isn’t going away anytime soon, regardless of whether the claims are real or just another instance of social media matching.
