Sambalpur: The body of a woman was found under Mahanadi Bridge near Goira Matha in Sambalpur on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Simran, an album artist. She has acted in a number of Sambalpuri album songs.
Locals spotted the body this morning and informed the Burla police. They seized the body and sent it for postmortem.
Alleging that she was murdered, her family lodged a complaint with the police and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Simran had a love marriage with a youth of Bolangir area recently.
