Agra: Cops in Uttar Pradesh reportedly filed cases against at least 60 people after a protest staged outside the Jama Masjid in Agra on Friday. The protest was staged after the Friday prayers. The stir was triggered after some people found a packet of animal flesh inside the mosque, reports claimed.
The protest broke out soon after Friday prayers ended. The crowd demanded severe punishment for whoever had placed the meat in the mosque. Reports claimed police had to use mild force to disperse the protest.
A case has been registered against the man who placed the piece of meat inside the mosque. Additionally, those who created disturbance outside the Jama Masjid have been booked, reported the Hindustan Times.

Around 60 people have been named in the FIR for their involvement in the protest,” deputy commissioner of police, Sonam Kumar, told PTI.
According to police officials, a man named Nazruddin—who was seen arriving at the mosque on a scooty— was accused of leaving a packet of animal meat late Thursday night inside the Jama Masjid in the Mantola area of Agra.
Over 100 police officers were deployed in the area to carry out a thorough investigation and avoid any untoward situation. The packet has been sent for forensic examination.
Additional police commissioner Sanjeev Tyagi told reporters that action would be taken under the National Security Act (NSA).
