New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Minister of External Affairs Dr S Jaishankar on Thursday briefed President Droupadi Murmu on the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam.
Taking to the X handle, the President informed about the meeting and wrote, “Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah and Minister of External Affairs, Dr S Jaishankar called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.”
She was also informed about diplomatic steps taken against Pakistan for sponsoring cross-border terrorism.
Reports further stated that MEA officials have also briefed ambassadors of over 20 countries, including Germany, Japan, Poland, UK and Russia, about the Pahalgam attack.

A total of 26 men, mostly tourists, including one Nepalese national, were gunned down by terrorists at Baisaran valley of Pahalgam on April 22. India has since announced some strict measures, including suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, blaming the attack on cross-border elements.

On Wednesday, Shah had visited the site of the terror attack and met with the families of the victims.
