Bhubaneswar: Through sheer dedication and commitment to work, Tattwa Prakash Satapathy aka Papu Pom Pom has bagged a role in Priyadarshan’s upcoming multi-starrer movie, where he will share screen space with Abhisekh Bachchan, Rajpal Yadav and Paresh Rawal.
The movie produced by Rohit Shetty is yet to be named.
“I could draw Priyadarshan’s attention with my antics during the shooting of Balaji Films’ commercial for the IPL. When I approached him later, he assured me a role in his next film. We are yet to sign a formal contract, but his verbal confirmation is enough for me,” said Papu Pom Pom, whose satirical programme ‘Excuse Me, Jaha Kahibi Sata Kahibi’ telecast on Tarang channel was his first claim to fame.
Since his debut in 2010, Papu Pom Pom has entertained people with his comic timing and acting skill.
Despite being in news for the wrong reasons in connection with casting couch allegations, Papu feels his work speaks for itself and people continue to love him for it.
His films ‘Just Mohabbat’, ‘Suna Pila Tike Screw Dhila’, ‘Mu Kahnti Odia Jhia’ are doing well while ‘Bhairav’, ‘Kabula-Barabula’, ‘Sur Das’ will hit theatres soon. “I have already started my own web channel. The videos I upload get viral within a day. In future, I would like to make good movies with newcomers,” he added.
