Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to visit Odisha on June 20 to attend a grand event to celebrate the first anniversary of the BJP government in the state.
Sharing this information on Saturday, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari told reporters that the Mohan Majhi-led government is set to celebrate the completion of one year in a grand manner.
The Prime Minister will attend the mega celebration marking the first anniversary, which is now scheduled to be held on June 20 instead of June 12, Pujari said.
“The celebration has been postponed to June 20 from June 12. The final schedule for the event will be released soon,” he said.
It may be noted that Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, during his recent visit to New Delhi, had extended a formal invitation to the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to attend the anniversary celebration.
He has also invited BJP national president J P Nadda, and other dignitaries to attend the function marking the completion of one year of the BJP government in the state.
Notably, PM Modi had attended the swearing-in ceremony of the Mohan Majhi government last year.
In the last one year, the state government has launched a number of initiatives, including the Subhadra Yojana, which provides financial assistance to women, and the Mukhyamantri Kamadhenu Yojana, aimed at boosting the dairy sector.
The anniversary event is likely to highlight these programmes and outline future plans for the state’s development.
