Mumbai: Actor Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal’s absence from the current plot of the popular sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has sparked speculation about the actor’s exit from the show.
In the current ‘Bhootni’ plot of the show, members of the Gokuldham society are seen vacationing in a haunted bungalow. While Taarak Mehta, Anjali, Bapu ji, Popatlal, Sodhi and others characters are a part of the plot, the main character Jethalal has been missing for a long time.
This has left Jethalal’s fans wondering.
However, rubbishing rumours about Jethalal’s exit, the show’s production house revealed that the actor is currently on a business trip as per the current plot, ABP News reported.
The popular and much-loved sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has been running for 17 years.
Over the years, several actors including Disha Vakani, Jheel Mehta, Bhavya Gandhi, Raj Anadkat, Palak Sindhwani, Gurucharan Singh Sodhi and Neha Mehta have quit the show.
Talking about actors leaving the show and then blaming him, producer Asit Modi earlier told Screen “I have never detached myself from the actors. If there is any issue, they can always contact me. I have always been very honest and kept the show first. I have never thought of any personal gains, so with incidents like these, I do get upset, but it’s a part of life.”
