Bhubaneswar: Rain and bad weather caused by Cyclone Arnab played spoilsport in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match between Odisha and Services.
The first day saw uninterrupted action, the next two days were completely washed out and the final day produced about half an hour’s cricket.
In all, the four-day game at Bhubaneswar’s KIIT Stadium featured just 94.3 overs of action, with not even two innings being completed.
The draw helped struggling Odisha open their account with a solitary point.
Having lost the first two matches of their 2026-27 Ranji season by big margins — against Gujarat and Kerala — on the road, Odisha were in trouble in Game 3 as well, this time at home.
Having been asked to bat first, Odisha were bowled out for 194 in their first innings. Services were 40 for no loss when stumps were drawn for the last time on Thursday.
Odisha will next face Jharkhand at Bhubaneswar, from November 2 to 5.
