Mumbai: Following the success of ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan has been recognised as the ‘Box Office Ka Baap’ by the exhibitors.
According to Sacnilk, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ has minted around ₹137.80 crore in India in just 15 days.
To celebrate the film’s massive success, multiplex owners, including PVR INOX Pictures and Cinepolis, hosted a special evening to felicitate Aamir.
The event was attended by the entire team of ‘Sitaare Zameen Par.’

Directed by RS Prasanna, the film, which is a spiritual sequel to the 2007 hit movie ‘Taare Zameen Par’, was released in theatres on June 20.
The film also features Genelia D’Souza and newcomers Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
The worldwide collection of the film stands at ₹217.50 crore, as per Sacnilk.
