Cuttack: Taking a tough stance against latecomers, new Commissioner of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Kirandeep Kaur Sahota has issued show-cause notice to 30 employees of the civic body.
Sources said the CMC Commissioner has issued the show-cause notice to the 30 employees who reached the office late. In the show-cause notice, the employees have been directed to explain within 24 hours why their salary will not be deducted.
“It has come to the notice of the undersigned that, you were found absent in your seat today till 10.30 A.M Inspite of repeated instructions you are not coming office on time. Due to your absence in office, the official works of your seat are being severely hampered. Hence, you are hereby called upon explanation, why your salary shall not be held up due to your negligence in duty,” read the notification issued on July 29.
“Your explanation should reach the undersigned within 24 hrs from the receipt of this notice, failing which action as deemed proper shall be taken against you,” it added.
Notably, Sahota, a 2021-batch IAS officer, took charge as Commissioner of CMC on July 23. Earlier, she was posted as the Sub-Collector of Gunupur in Rayagada district.
