Mumbai: Salman Khan’s Eid release ‘Sikandar’ failed to impress the audience and was criticised for its weak storyline and poor direction.
Now, filmmaker AR Murugadoss has opened up about collaborating with Salman in the film and said it was not easy to work with the superstar.
In an interview with Valaipechu Voice, Murugadoss revealed that Salman made the crew and other actors wait as he would turn up at the sets around 8 pm.
There were times when children, who were a part of the film, had to stay up till 2 am to shoot their scenes.
“It’s not easy to shoot with a star. Even day scenes we have to shoot at night because he turns up on set only by 8 PM. We are used to shooting right from early mornings, but that’s not how things work there,” Murugadoss said.
“If there were four kids in a scene, we would have to shoot with them at 2 AM, even if it’s the shot of them returning from school! They would become tired by that time and usually dozed off,” he added.
South filmmaker Murugadoss returned to Bollywood with ‘Sikandar’ after a nine-year break.
Besides Salman, the film also starred Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi and Prateik Babbar in key roles.
The film, reportedly made on a budget of ₹200 crore, managed to mint only ₹184.6 crore worldwide.
Salman will next be seen in Apoorva Lakhia’s war drama ‘Battle Of Galwan’, based on the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict between India and China.
