Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati presided over the 13th convocation ceremony of Centurion University at its Bhubaneswar campus.

The university conferred degrees upon 3,059 students, including 39 PhD scholars and 183 students from previous batches.

Dr Kambhampati, Visitor of the University, urged graduates to embrace innovation and leverage technology for the greater good.

“Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders in shaping India’s technological and social landscape. I urge you to remain steadfast in your pursuit of knowledge and use it to drive inclusive growth,” the Governor said in his address.

He appreciated Centurion University’s hands-on, skill-integrated educational model, noting its strong entrepreneurial climate that encourages students to ideate, build, and convert solutions into ventures.

ISRO Chairman Dr Narayanan observed that Centurion University’s emphasis on hands-on learning and innovation aligns closely with India’s vision for a progressive and technologically empowered future.

“I am confident that the graduates passing out today will contribute meaningfully across diverse fields — be it science, technology, agriculture, healthcare, entrepreneurship, social development, or any domain they choose to pursue. As you move forward, remember to give back to society. India has grown remarkably over the years, and with the abundance of opportunities now available, each one of you holds a significant role in shaping the nation’s future,” Dr Narayanan said.

Dr Das advised the new graduates to move ahead with ambition, but keep values, ethics, and roots close. “The world is waiting for you to step up, to roar with confidence, and to transform lives through your work. The nation needs young minds with courage, creativity, and purpose. With its integrated approach to skill, technology, and research, Centurion University is preparing you to contribute meaningfully to India’s development and drive indigenous growth,” stated DRDO’s DG (ECS).

The convocation honoured outstanding academic achievers with prestigious medals and accolades.

* Onyinye Francisca Ajaka received the Visitor’s Gold Medal for outstanding performance in BTech in Mechanical Engineering (Marine)

* Sangita Ghosh honoured with Dhiren Patnaik Memorial Gold Medal as Best Female Graduate in Master of Pharmacy

* Saket Raj presented Peter Renwick Memorial Gold Medal for all-round excellence in School of Management
