Bhubaneswar: Seven players will make their debut in the senior team of Odisha for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy Cricket Tournament, scheduled to be held in Bengaluru from December 24, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
Chairperson of the Odisha Senior Men’s Selection Committee Sourajit Mohapatra officially announced the 16-member squad to be led by all-rounder Biplab Samantaray with pace bowler Rajesh Mohanty as his deputy for the first three matches on Monday.
The new faces in the Odisha lineup are Om T Munde, Dinesh Kumar Majhi, Sambit Baral, Soumya Ranjan Lenka, Anil Parida, Badal Biswal, and Sayed Tufayl Ahamad, signaling a blend of youth and experience as the state aims to make an impact.
Odisha features in Elite Group D, a competitive eight-team pool that includes Saurashtra, Services, Andhra, Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, and Railways. The top two teams from each of the four elite groups will advance directly to the quarterfinals after this knockout stage of India’s premier domestic 50-over tournament.
