Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has formally unveiled the new calendar and diary for the English New Year 2026 published by Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) of Puri.
After the calendars were printed, copies were first offered to Lord Jagannath in Puri as part of customary rituals. Subsequently, the calendar was formally unveiled in Bhubaneswar on Thursday by the Chief Minister.
The exquisite calendars showcase stunning images of Lord Jagannath in various divine attires (beshas) and grand scenes from the world-famous Rath Yatra, rendered through traditional Odisha art forms such as sand art, pattachitra, palm leaf engraving, and conventional stone carving.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister highlighted the cultural significance of these publications in promoting Odisha’s rich heritage and devotion to Lord Jagannath.
The calendars and diaries will be available for sale to devotees in the coming days at the Shree Mandir Information Centres in Puri and Bhubaneswar, an official statement said.
Chief Administrator of SJTA Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary of Law Department Pabitra Mohan Samal, Puri Collector Dibyajyoti Parida, Superintendent of Police Prateek Singh, SJTA Administrator (Development) Debarata Sahu, and SJTA Administrator (Rituals) Jitendra Kumar Sahu were present on the occasion.
