Mumbai: After having worked in films like ‘Heyy Babyy’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ and ‘Mission Mangal’, Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan are reportedly set to reunite in Anees Bazmee’s upcoming comedy flick.
“Akshay and Vidya share effortless chemistry as actors, something audiences have loved in films like Heyy Babyy (2007), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) and Mission Mangal. Off screen too, they share a warm equation, which made this an easy yes for everyone involved,” a source was quoted as saying by Filmfare.
Confirming his upcoming project during an interview with Mid-Day, filmmaker Anees said, “It is a comedy. I am writing the script right now, it’s almost complete. If everything goes as planned, we will start shooting soon.”
Akshay and Anees have delivered films like ‘Welcome’, ‘Singh Is Kinng’, and ‘Thank You’. The upcoming film will be their fourth project together.
Reflecting on his long-standing association with Akshay, the director said, “There is mutual love and respect between us. When I told him about this film, he was more than happy.”
Reports suggest that the upcoming film is a remake of Telugu action-comedy, ‘Sankranthiki Vasthunam.’
However, Anees didn’t divulge any details.
The film is currently in the pre-production stage and is expected to go on floors in February 2026, as per a report in Pinkvilla.
